Visited XIII

Elpis   Hope

Yet not for ever closed is the dread gate
Of such a barrier, such a brazen wall,
Though it may stand rock-fast like ancient fate!
There is a being, and you know her well:
Lightsome, unbridled, who on delicate
Wings lifts us high through clouds, fog, rain and all
That weighs us down: she flies both wide and far-
One wing-beat bears us where vast ages are!
